Abstract
The discrete version of the method of inequalities is used to design a controller for a glucoregulatory system such that the glucose concentration of a human subject follows certain prescribed constraints, referred to as the comfort metabolic system operations. The glucoregulatory system is described. To apply the method of inequalities, it is necessary to specify a certain number of inequalities such that the performance indices of the compensated system could be appropriately measured. Taking into account the comfort metabolic system operations for human subjects, the constraints used in the control design procedure are discussed. Results obtained show the feasibility and potential of the discrete version of the method of inequalities
