  • Abstract
    As a breakthrough over conventional systems a new kind of computer control system model, the autonomous decentralized system (ADS) is proposed. ADS makes the on-line expansion fault-tolerance and on-line maintenance of the system possible. In addition, a new kind of industrial control system, the fieldbus control system (FCS) arises, which introduces the concept of communication and management in the network into the industrial control field. DeviceNet based on CAN (controller area network) was raised as one of the fieldbuses in 1998, which makes the system´s integration easier and enhances the system´s interoperability. In the paper, the applications of some ideas of ADS in DeviceNet are discussed and some comparisons between ADS and DeviceNet are presented
