Abstract :
The performance and thermodynamic analysis of resorption heat transformers and two-stage absorption heat transformers are investigated using various binary mixtures. The analysis helps in the design of a heat transformer specifically tailored to the utilization of low-grade thermal energy. The author has analyzed single- and double-stage aqua-ammonia heat transformers. Theoretical performance characteristics of single-stage heat transformers using various promising binary mixtures such as ammonia as refrigerant and 1-4 butanedial, 2-3 butanediol, triethyleneglycol dimethyl ether as absorbent and sulfur dioxide-demethyl acetamide mixture were studied and analyzed
