Abstract
A dual-mode transportation system, in which vehicles run on dedicated lanes as well as ordinary roads, has many superior features compared to traditional public transport systems. We are developing an advanced dual-mode ´bus system with Toyota Motor Corporation. In this paper a real-time operation scheduling method to respond to unexpected incidents and demand changes is proposed. The operation scheduling is defined as a combinatorial optimization problem. Our scheduling method has been tested in a simulation using hypothetical roads and traffic demands
