Abstract :
The next-generation wireless networks are envisioned to provide an always-best-connected (ABC) paradigm for mobile users who can access to multiple networks simultaneously. Thus, the design and evaluation of practical ABC multi-access systems are gaining increasing importance. The EU MULTINET architecture aims at advanced policy-based multi-access support for nomadic users roaming with a personal area network. In this paper, we present the design, implementation, validation and evaluation of the MULTINET approach towards realising the ABC concept.
