Abstract :
A novel design of dual-band monopole antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) for radio frequency identification (RFID) applications is presented. By embedding a slot, the antenna achieves good dual-band operation. The simulated impedance bandwidth for -10 dB return loss is from 2.25 GHz to 2.89 GHz (24.9%) and 5.30 GHz to 6.22 GHz (16.0%), covering the 2.45/5.8 GHz RFID operating bands.
