Abstract :
This paper presents a novel approach to extract accurately the photovoltaic (PV) module single-diode model five parameters Iph, Isat, A, Rs, and Rp. The parameters extraction method incorporated a new equation dP/dI=0 at the maximum power point replacing the typically used equation in the literature dI/dV=-1/Rp. The new equation avoids the dependence on the value of Rp, and it also does not require any complex calculation and tedious combination of other equations to extract the five parameters for a PV module. The PV module behavior at different temperature and irradiance is also forecasted.
