  • Abstract
A combinatorial approach has been developed for analyzing adaptive echo cancellers. This type of analysis is complimentary to the error variance approach, emphasizing details of the adaptive process generally not discussed, such as the interaction between tap coefficients. The author shows that the approach gives good agreement with simulated results. The combinatorial approach can also be used for the analysis of more complex situations including nonwhite transmit sequences, nonGaussian noise sources and other types of filter structures, e.g. memory filters
