Title :
Does the advent of desktop publishing signal the triumph of style over substance?
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
The author points out that many publications that can be produced on a variety of desktop publishing packages look spectacular. She then wonders if, since documents can look so good regardless of what they say, it is inevitable that their looks will be more important than their contents. She concludes that communicators must be aware of the value of both style and substance, but striking the proper balance between them is not an easy task.<>
