Abstract :
The aims of the international society for engineering education IGIP are improving teaching methods in technical subjects by developing practice-oriented curricula that correspond to the needs of students and employers. New competencies of educators are needed as evaluation management, development competencies, communication skills, teamwork, ethics and intercultural competencies. ING-PAED IGIP is a register, which certificates a certain educational level for a teacher, which is given by the IGIP curriculum. Any engineering educator who passes the curriculum at any accredited training centre for international engineering education, and whose education, training and professional experience meet the IGIP standards may register for the professional register as "International Engineering Educator ING-PAED IGIP". The ING-PAED IGD is for all technical teachers who are engineers according to IGD principles and have studied according to the IGD curriculum studies at accredited institutes plus have one year of teaching experiences as a minimum qualification profile for teachers and trainers in engineering education. The IGD curriculum is a modular system which consists of core, theory and practice modules. IGD accredits training centers for "International Engineering Educators", 39 institutions are accredited worldwide, ranging from Austria to Russia and Ukraine.
