Abstract :
A high-efficiency allothermal gasification system which employs regenerative gas/air preheats both upstream and downstream of the gasifier, which is of the cyclonic slag-rejecting type, is proposed. The gasifying medium will be steam, heated to over 1500°C. Earlier proposals based on MHD investigations for high-temperature air preheat systems tolerant of slag are described to validate the proposed scheme. The system is expected to give high efficiencies and also obviate the need for an oxygen plant
