Abstract :
This paper discusses four computer programs developed by the author for use within the Defence Science and Technology Organisation: HANKEL, a range-independent transmission loss model based on the wavenumber-integral method; Multi LP, a tool for computing the complex reflection coefficient for plane wave incidence upon a seafloor boundary where the seafloor is comprised of a stack of uniform sediment layers overlying a uniform basement; and two time-series simulation models, DPRAY, for range-independent environments, and WEDGE, for a wedge. The main emphasis with each code is on mathematical rigour and quantitative exploration of the physics.
