Abstract :
This paper presents an approach to the optimal DFIG-WT allocation problem in distribution systems. The approach belongs to the set of incremental methods. The goal is to determine the optimal installation location and capacity of DFIG-WT to minimize network losses with assumption of uniform wind energy resource in the area. It treats the voltage of access point as operation constraint. The approach is based on the perturbation of optimum theorem. The optimal allocation of DFIG-WT is obtained by analyzing the sensitivity of network losses to the injection power of the allocation node. Finally the approach is applied to a 33-node distribution system. Numerical results demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach.
