Abstract :
Photovoltaic battery panels are important components in a microgrid. In a microgrid with photovoltaic arrays, sometimes the inverter must runs on controllable power output mode other than on MPPT mode in order to maintain power balance, so the classic control technology for photovoltaic inverter is not always suitable for the inverter in microgrid. This paper first discusses the power-voltage output specification of photovoltaic arrays, then a novel control method is introduced. According to the author´s another paper, the photovoltaic arrays have similar specifications with a single photovoltaic cell. Due to the I-V curve of the photovoltaic arrays, as the output current rises, the output voltage decrease. Therefore a novel control method is introduced. In this paper a model is constructed based on the above theory, simulation results validate the above theory: the inverter can output a constant power other than working on MPPT mode. An actual inverter is also constructed based on TMS320LF2403A DSP. The inverter can run on either MPPT mode or controllable power output mode.
