Abstract :
Multiple criteria decision making problems in manufacturing systems are discussed. The schema model, one of the parallel distributed processing models, is presented. In this model, correlations between each unit in the system are represented by weights while the degree of satisfaction is expressed by the value of goodness to fit. As they are updated iteratively, the activation value of each unit and the connections among them reach a stable state. Then, a near-optimal solution of the system can be obtained. Considering all the processes in a manufacturing system, many variables can be taken into account. Sample results that show the capabilities of the model are presented
