Abstract :
A theory of set-membership identification and corresponding (as necessary) robust control design methods compatible with both probabilistic and deterministic plant sets is discussed. The philosophy of some of the different existing approaches is reported. Specific topics discussed within this framework include ellipsoid parameter bounds, set-membership validation, least-squares set estimation, and model sets for control design
