Abstract :
New implementations of analog finite impulse response (FIR) and infinite impulse response (IIR) filter topologies devoid of operational amplifiers are presented. The circuits consist of various connections of delay lines and controlled current sources. The design problem associated with these new structures is considered, and is similar to procedures currently in existence for digital realizations of FIR and IIR circuits. Simulation results are presented for a variety of wideband and narrowband designs. The effect of controlled current source finite output conductance is considered along with a means for its compensation. The noise effect associated with the presence of this parasitic element, in addition to that associated with the controlled current sources and the terminating line resistances, is considered
