Abstract :
The composite solid propellant is considered as a three phase composite material on the levels of the microstructure. The random distribution packing model of fillers in the binder of composite solid propellant was generated based on the Molecular Dynamics (MD) method, and an automatic mesh generation program based on the delaunay triangulation algorithm is provided for the meshing of aggregates, matrix and interfacial transition zone(ITZ). After that finite element method is used for the analysis of stress and strain within the microstructure. The calculation results show that the approach to simulate composite solid propellant, of dynamic packing, then meshing and finally finite elements analysis, is feasible and effective and the numerical prediction of elastic modulus of composite solid propellant consisting of three-phase material is in agreement with effective.
