Abstract :
The requantization error of delta-sigma modulators used in oversampling digital-analog converters can contain discrete tones that are objectionable in high-fidelity audio applications. The asymptotic second-order statistics and ergodicity of the requantization error are investigated, and it is shown that such tones can be eliminated in a class of delta-sigma modulators with least significant bit dithering
