Abstract :
To obtain testing value of load loss including its harmonics, the separate test of load loss components is done for a 500 kV converter transformer by the method of changing frequency and numerical analysis of load loss components is also carried out by FEM. Both fundamental eddy current loss in windings and stray loss in metal structure parts with respect to frequency is yielded respectively. The validation of load loss including its harmonics for HV DC converter transformer is confirmed by comparing test results with numerical analysis results.
