Abstract :
Dual time scale systems such as Δ-Σ modulators, switching power converters, and phase-locked loops often take an excessive amount of computation time to simulate when using a circuit simulator and do not have sufficient accuracy when simulated with more efficient methods. A significant improvement is made from previous piecewise linear simulators by the use of mixed symbolic/numeric time domain equations. A comparison of the new method is made to a SPICE (simulated program with IC emphasis) circuit simulator and to experimental measurements of a Δ-Σ modulator analog front-end
