Abstract :
An automated synthesis system is described for the design of high-level analog circuits and systems. A circuit is specified by its dynamic behavior-described using a class of time-differential equations or state-space equations. The desired performance requirements and the imposed constraints are specified. A synthesis procedure is described to perform structural synthesis of a circuit in terms of analog functions which result in dynamic behavior equivalent to the specified equations. The design system then proceeds in a hierarchical top-down fashion to develop the circuits and the layouts for the individual functional blocks in order to achieve the desired performance. This culminates in an integrated circuit layout whose behavior and performance correspond to input specifications
