Abstract :
Analysis tools such as computational fluid dynamics modeling software (CFD) are yielding significant insights into some of the less straightforward applications of electric heat tracing. This paper describes the CFD modeling technique and applies it in a variety of applications. The results generated from these analyses are used to demonstrate some fundamental truths regarding heat tracing behavior. Tools such as CFD will no doubt provide one of the stepping stones for future advancements in heat tracing technology
