Abstract :
The authors present several features of subharmonic oscillations in a symmetrical three-phase circuit, which consists of a wye-delta connected three-phase transformer, voltage sources, linear resistors and capacitors. The exciting characteristics of the transformer are nonlinear. To analyze subharmonic oscillations, the asymptotic method developed by M. N. Krylov, N. N. Bogoliubov and I. A. Mitropolsky is extended. Particular attention is paid to the zero-phase fluxinterlinkages. The results demonstrate that three modes of 1/3-subharmonic oscillation exist. One of them is generated symmetrically in three phases and two of them unsymmetrically in two phases. For 1/2-subharmonic oscillation, there are two modes which occur symmetrically in three phases
