Abstract :
Today the Smart Grid concept along with the development of Distributed Generation (DG) causes the need to get devices that can manage different power flows in the power system. In this paper an Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) is presented. This device operates in real time (RT) and is ready to manage DG. It allows monitoring status of the interface between distributed generation and utility network, and manages communications between all involved entities.
