Abstract :
A temperature sensorless estimator is presented in this paper, which estimates the temperature using a signal injection strategy. A DC offset signal is injected to the machine producing a DC current offset. The stator resistance value is then estimated through the measured current offset value. The strategy has been implemented in an inverter-fed very small resistance induction high power machine. The proposed algorithm has been validated both by a real time platform and lab experiment.
