Abstract
A design procedure for linear phase filters is presented. The ideal frequency-domain performance is transformed to the time domain. A realizable filter which has impulse-response zero crossings close to those of the ideal case is found. Computed results confirm the quality of this approximation method. The ideal zero crossings act as guides and give the desired control in both time and frequency domains
