Abstract
An exact analysis of the class-E DC-to-DC converter is presented by using the state-plane diagram. The state-plane representation provides better physical insight into the converter operation than the conventional time-domain approach. From a set of equations derived from the analysis, the conditions for zero voltage switching and the control characteristics of the converter are obtained. These results are expressed in the form of design curves
