Abstract :
Multilevel inverter is generally widely used for high voltage application because of its reduced harmonics. In this paper seven level inverter is connected in series connected multilevel inverter topology. Selective harmonic reduction with wide range of modulation indexes is also applied to this topology. In this topology number of switches have been reduced and the main power devices switch only once in a cycle. Simulation of the seven level inverter incorporating series connected sub-multilevel inverter topology and selective harmonic reduction is done in MATLAB and its validity is proved.
