Abstract :
This work compares two economical three-phase power factor correction topologies. It is original in showing the isolated contribution of each part (active switch, input filter and output filter) of the circuits studied to their overall performance. Attention is also drawn to the influence of the output filter on the harmonics of the line current, often overlooked in the literature. A reduction of the predominant fifth harmonic is proposed using an output π-section filter instead of the single capacitor generally employed
