Abstract :
the authors have found a new trellis coded modulation code for the Rayleigh fading channel. It has 2.7 dB more coding gain than the code found by Divsalar and Simon (1987) for the fading channel. The code search is carried out by transforming the fading channel with additive Gaussian noise into an equivalent time-invariant channel with an additive non-Gaussian noise, and by adopting the code search procedure for a nonGaussian noise channel
