Abstract :
The basic method of μ analysis and synthesis control theory was described and applied to design of idle speed controller in engine. An idle speed control model of the engine was established. Using μ synthesis to design a controller, which was solved by the method of program of D-K iteration. A H∞ controller was also designed and was compared with the μ idle speed controller. The simulation results show that: once the premise of generalized uncertainties exists, μ synthesis and synthesis controller can balanced the stability and performance of the system compared with H∞ controller.
