Abstract :
This paper describes the first developments carried out on CdZnTe pixel detectors for the project CSTD. The main purpose of this project is to construct the first detector of a Compton system for gamma imaging at energies in the order of 1 MeV. The reasons for using such type of semiconductor detectors in this application are discussed. The design of the detectors is presented. First results of the detector response with discrete electronics are shown.
