Abstract :
Resonantly pumped eyesafe erbium lasers are rapidly advancing, bolstered by attractive features such as a long storage lifetime, direct eyesafe emission, and high quantum efficiency. We present 1470 nm diode-pumped results in which we demonstrate >40 mJ/pulse in Q-switched operation and over 30 W in quasi-cw and repetitively Q-switched operation.
