Abstract
The complex control system can be simulated by the market-based control (MBC), in which controlling devices and controlled structure are replaced respectively by sellers and buyers, so that the system is decentralized and the structure can be controlled effectively. In this paper, a novel control law, market-based control law, for semi-active tuned liquid column dampers (TLCD) is presented. First, the equation of motion for structure-TLCD control system is established and the MBC semi-active TLCD control strategy is derived. The control strategy is investigated through a one-story structure. Then, a five-story structure is used to verify the effectiveness of the control method. The results show that MBC semi-active TLCD on-off control method can efficiently reduce the vibration of structure as well as save energy and can be handled easily.
