Abstract
The paper describes a server component from a tele-assistance / tele-monitoring system to assist elderly persons. The system consists of units located at the homes of the monitored persons collecting and sending medical and environmental data from sensors and a call centre with a server for recording and monitoring the data. Here, specialised staff will support tele-surveillance and tele-assistance services. The software solutions at the server, the WEB Services and the database are briefly described. Conclusions are issued, especially about the “intelligent” features of the developed system and the related future research intentions: the telecare infrastructure and gathered data will be used for researches related to biological signal processing, data mining, decision support systems, as a step toward future generation intelligent telecare networking applications.
