Message from Program Chair

The Society of Instrumentation and Control Engineers, Japan (SICE) has been working to internationalize its annual conferences. The successful SICE-ICCAS2006 in Busan, Korea, the first SICE annual conference outside Japan, was an important milestone in this effort. Back to Japan for SICE2007, we are committed to keeping and improving this internationalization and high technical standard. We invited eight regional program chairs to encourage submissions outside Japan, divided our technical area into six tracks corresponding to the six divisions of SICE, and assigned a track chair to each track. We also asked leading researchers in the various fields to propose organized sessions. Thanks to the efforts of all those involved, we received approximately 670 extended abstract submissions from 15 countries. Each submission was reviewed by at least two reviewers, and 584 papers were accepted. These papers will be presented in 60 regular sessions and 54 organized sessions. We are also delighted to have three plenary talks and an invited speech by distinguished researchers. These presentations will cover the current, exciting topics in the SICE´s wide technical fields: measurement, control, system and information, system integration, industrial applications, and advanced integration.
