Abstract :
In this paper, targeted at closed spaces such as factories and schools as a part of the "SICE city" Project, it is investigated and discussed how the technologies developed in the SICE community are to be implemented and what kind of functions are to be emerged. First, the methodologies which are characteristic of SICE as well as the approaches in SICE style are characterized. That is, the SICE way is outlined as the following three steps : i) viewing the targeted system and process systematically, ii) building an adequate model of it, e.g., a mathematical model, a multi-agent model, etc., and iii) seeking and designing solutions appropriate for the purpose based on the model. Then, it is discussed which targets, i.e., what kind of functions in closed spaces, this approach in the SICE style is applicable and effective for. Anyhow, such topics or issues as related to engineering problem-solving, especially emergent approaches for synthesis, are to be included.
