  • Abstract
Switch mode rectifier (SMR) design needs to consider AC distribution, voltage sags and surges, power line notches and voltage transients, including their causes and effects. Influence from lightning has to be more carefully considered. Also the utility load and grid switching, as well as load changes in the AC distribution network close to SMR power plants, are now important considerations. The author discusses these factors and their effects on the SMR
