  • Abstract
    The results of this paper indicate that ATN Baseline 1 does not have the messages required to support current oceanic operations as well as future oceanic initiative enhancements. The currently committed ATN Baseline 1 avionics architecture does not have Flight Management System integration and also does not have the required capabilities and functions. Thus ATN Baseline 2 messages capabilities and enhanced and integrated avionics architectures can be developed to support future oceanic operations. The article summarizes this conclusion by listing the oceanic support capabilities of FANS-1/A, ATN Baseline 1 with currently associated avionics architecture, and the proposed future ATN Baseline 2
