Abstract :
With the evolution of industrial automation, the importance and necessity of real-time computing have attained its peak which greatly helps in improving product quality, supervisory control and management. Real-time data acquisition is involved in a very wide range of application areas like power grid control of transmission networks, industrial process control, avionics, robotics, weather forecasting and space research etc. These applications are of complex nature due to the criticality of their varied dynamic control parameters. Software for such applications needs to be very accurate due to the precision involved and should have an adaptable environment to cater to the dynamic scenario of the system. Object-oriented concept and analysis methodology helps a real-time software to be robust with modularization and with its software reusability and easier maintainability factor, high quality software is produced. This paper discusses the object oriented concepts for the development of a power network data acquisition system
