Abstract
An Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) is a digital package of information required for diagnosis and maintenance of equipment systems. Now, IETM authoring system can not obtain right information directly from modern product data management (PDM) system. This has resulted in an obstacle to the product logistic support design, postponed the delivery of equipment manual. This paper presents a solution to the above problem based on concurrent engineering idea and PDM technology. It offers a framework of a PDM-based IETM authoring system, points out that the key to implement concurrent developing of IETM should establish three basic data model to transform non-structured product information into structured IETM data.
