Abstract :
Study on the problems of obtaining both the optimal location and size of piezoelectric actuators in the smart structure. In this paper, the model of a piezoelectric smart structure is built by the application of ANSYS software, extracts the required modes according to the method of model reduction based on the truncation criterion of modal cost, then, both the optimal location and the size of piezoelectric actuators can be ascertained by these extracted modes. Finally, the paper takes a piezoelectric smart simply supported beam affixed with sensors and actuators as an example and gives the impulse response curve of the system. The results show the effectiveness of this method.
