Abstract :
In this paper, the leaking microstrip line is modified into an appropriately meandered shape and embedded below the conveyor belt. This results in a very simple, effective and low-cost RFID solution for smart reading of the product tag information as it slides over the device. This is effective for all tag orientations while keeping the desired field confinement at UHF which allows close parallel cashier conveyor operation in scenarios like supermarkets without cross-readings.
