Abstract :
The VLSI design automation process for the IBM AS/400 is highly focused on the dual goals of short design time and exhaustive verification. Some of the recent developments in the process areas of high level language and synthesis, timing analysis and verification, chip physical design, and system testing are described. The process continues to evolve to meet the dual challenges of shorter design time and improved solution quality
