Abstract :
To improve 3D visualization, GIS data processing is presented firstly, then a lightweight algorithm is proposed to create 3D terrain landscape dynamically in real-time for a small area in terms of technology of 3D terrain visualization which combined DEM data with remote sensing image. The 3D terrain landscape of a location together with the area around Taiyuan city in Shanxi province is simulated. How to optimize the displaying performance is discussed based on the simulated results, and the applied situation of this algorithm is indicated in the end.
