Abstract :
This work presents a joint synchronization technique for DVB-H system with adaptive FFT mode detection, guard interval length detection, coarse symbol synchronization (CSS) and fractional carrier frequency offset (FCFO) estimation. Different from conventional algorithm, we develop a threshold-free scheme which is more reliable in frequency selective fading channel. Simulation results show almost 2 dB performance gain compared to Threshold-based method (TBM), especially with low SNR. Also it is cost-effective and power consumption is decreased by adopting this new scheme.
