Abstract
This paper shows the feasibility of using two reverberation chambers for measurements of performance of MIMO systems. The presented results illustrate the keyhole effect and the asymptotic effect of adding more connections between the chambers. The results indicate that already with four connections between the chambers, the MIMO channel is relatively close in behavior to an ideal Rayleigh channel for a 2-by-2 MIMO antenna system. For testing of active MIMO systems, the measurement setup using two reverberation chambers is a promising alternative, especially with the possibility of controlling the channel statistics as displayed in this paper.
