Abstract
In order to consider the effects of antennas in UWB (ultra wideband) channel simulation, it is necessary to describe the antenna radiation pattern over 4pi-steradians, within the entire frequency band. This leads to a very large amount of data and hugely increases computation time, especially when working with a RT (ray tracing) based propagation simulator that only needs antenna data for a finite number of directions. As a result, signal extraction becomes an extremely difficult task. One solution for this problem is develop in this paper, the use of vector spherical harmonic expansion.
