Abstract :
In this paper the design of UWB Printed monopole antenna with dual band frequency notch function is proposed. Dual band frequency notch is achieved by using only two ground slots, instead of four slots as usual, that by inserting four lumped capacitors into the model. The two ground slots are formed on the ground plate to achieve the first notch at frequency band (5.15-5.825 GHz) which is WLAN band for IEEE802.11, four lumped capacitors are inserted into these ground slots; the first two lumped capacitors are inserted to miniaturize the size of the slots which is decreased by 49% of their conventional size without lumped capacitors, the second two lumped capacitors are inserted to obtain the second notch at frequency band (3.3-3.9GHz) which is WiMax band. The effect of the positions of the slots with respect to the patch on the value of return loss is investigated, also simulation results of S11 for different states and radiation patterns at different frequencies are presented.
